“American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson” promises to examine the criminal trial of O.J. Simpson, but so far, evidence of the show has been pretty scant, limited to posters and teaser trailers. Now, a longer look at the miniseries has debuted, finally showcasing Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson.
In addition to Gooding Jr., the stuffed cast includes John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark, Selma Blair as Kris Kardashian, and Connie Britton as Faye Resnick. Produced by Ryan Murphy, the series is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book “The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson.”
In addition to giving glimpses of Simpson’s mental state leading up to the trial, the first full trailer for “American Crime Story” shows how Simpson’s stature, L.A.’s race relations and a cunning legal team all combined to guarantee Simpson’s infamous acquittal.
“American Crime Story” debuts February 2 on FX. Check out the trailer above.
