Almost as entertaining as a new Quentin Tarantino movie is a new Quentin Tarantino press tour: regardless of what you think of his recent work, you can always count on the filmmaker to give an interesting, and often provocative, interview. Though the film’s been open in the U.S for a few weeks now, “The Hateful Eight” is now opening in the U.K, giving QT a chance to drop a bunch more quotes.

Back in December, the director gave a press conference where he addressed some of the kinds of movies that he might tackle in the future, and seemed to rule out the idea of a horror movie, saying “I don’t think I have the right kind of temperament.” But speaking to Time Out, while he reflects some of those thoughts, he does say he’d really love to do it if he “had all the time in the world.” “I would love to make a really, really scary horror film, like ‘The Exorcist,’” he tells the outlet, “but I don’t know if me taking my sense of humor and putting it in the backseat just to hit a tone of dread from beginning to end is the best use of my talents or my time.”
Tarantino has mostly held fast to the idea that he’s only going to make two more movies plus a potential Western miniseries. But speaking to Yahoo Movies UK, the director does say that he could make less, or maybe even more. “That was the idea, I could always change it,” he says to the site about his ten-movie plans, leaving the door open to further films. That said, he also suggests that he could cut his plans shorter, too. “If film goes the way of the dodo bird, I might not even do ten.” Fingers crossed that Kodak keep afloat, then.
He also talks his dislike of CGI, and the version of “Casino Royale” he would have liked to have made after “Pulp Fiction” (while affirming that the time has passed for his take on a James Bond flick), while in an interview with BBC’s Front Row, Tarantino addresses the charges from some circles that the treatment of Jennifer Jason Leigh’s character in “The Hateful Eight” is misogynistic.
