For those who fell in love with “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” after its premiere last November, life has been a bit confusing and hard to handle. As much as the first season entranced us, it wasn’t clear how Netflix would proceed with regards to Krysten Ritter’s hard-drinking, hard-hitting heroine.
The original plan, as far as we knew, was to do a season each for all four of the announced Marvel series — “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage” and “Iron Fist” — then unite those characters for a series know as “The Defenders.” And then “Daredevil” got renewed for a second season, which is more than welcome news for Marvel fans, but it meant we had to ask the question: If “Daredevil” can get a Season 2, why can’t “Jessica”?
Thus, this morning’s news — in which “Jessica Jones” will return for “a second installment” — is more than welcome. This will be a full second season of 13 episodes, release date TBD.
In addition, not only did a bunch of our most anticipated new series from Netflix get official release dates, but we know officially about when the following returning shows will launch. Check out the below (with accompanying GIFs!).
