Mya Taylor has signed with ICM Partners after her breakout performance in Sean Baker’s “Tangerine,” for which she received and Indie Spirit nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She also won the award for Breakthrough Actor at this year’s Gotham Awards.
ICM Partners will represent her for film and television acting and producing projects, which include a semi-autobiographical television show about her coming-out and transition, currently in development.
Taylor, along with “Tangerine” co-star Kitana Kiki Rodriguez, is part of the first-ever Oscar campaign for trans actors, being mounted by the film’s distributor Magnolia Pictures, and executive producers Jay and Mark Duplass. The deadline for Oscar nomination ballots is this Friday, January 8.
