Tribeca Enterprises Announces New CEO Andrew Essex

As it heads into its 15th year, the Tribeca Film Festival has become one of the most important and innovative festivals in the world.

Tribeca Enterprises, the company that runs and manages the festival, has now announced that Andrew Essex will assume the role of company CEO. Essex is the former CEO of the creative agency Droga5 and is well known in the media and advertising space.

“It is an extraordinary pleasure to be welcoming Andrew as we head into the 15th Tribeca Film Festival,” said Tribeca Enterprises co-founder Jane Rosenthal. “Andrew is one of the brightest, most creative minds in the media business. His experience, wit, and vision make him uniquely suited to build on Tribeca’s accomplishments.”
Essex is also an award-winning journalist and was formerly the Editor-in-Chief of Absolute Magazine. He has also held editorial positions at Entertainment Weekly, Salon and The New Yorker.

In further news, Genna Terranova will continue in her role as Tribeca Film Festival Director, working alongside Artistic Director Frederic Boyer and Geoff Gilmore, who will continue as a consultant on Tribeca Film Festival. 

This year’s Tribeca Film Festival will run from April 13 – 24.
