Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Alden Ehrenreich, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, Scarlett Johansson, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, and Channing Tatum taking a deep dive into the Coen Brothers‘ vision of the 1950s movie studio system sounds like a special kind of cinematic dream, but it’s very real. “Hail, Caesar!” opens next Friday, and, according to Brolin, it promises to be something quite special.

“The present day just pales in comparison to what was happening then,” Brolin told Yahoo Movies about the drug and sex filled scandals of the time. “You get to see the Coens’ rock opera of old Hollywood. It’s a lot of fun, but it’s all based on something very traumatic.”
