SundanceNow Doc Club’s first piece of original content will be a collection of five short documentaries entitled “Take 5: Justice in America,” which will tackle various issues from the perspective of six different filmmakers.
The clip above is taken from the section exploring voting rights entitled “The New Fight for Voting Rights,” which is directed by Rachel Lears. It shows how the film is about understanding history and how it effects contemporary scenarios.
The other films in “Justice in America” dig into poverty, criminal justice, incarceration and gun violence. The collection as a whole aims to provide impactful, socially-conscious storytelling in a modern context.
Clips from each film in the “Take 5: Justice in America” collection will be shown at a Sundance panel tomorrow. The filmmakers will be in attendance. Watch the clip above.
