Not all movies should be turned into TV shows, which, frankly, should be obvious. But what makes a movie susceptible to a reinvention on television is a bit more murky. Taking a page from that successful adaptation, “The Girlfriend Experience” is the vision of two new co-creators. While Steven Soderbergh (who directed the original film version) is attached as an executive producer, the 13-episode drama series will be written and directed entirely by Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz. If it worked for Noah Hawley, why not for these two?
