Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party

Logline: Edgar Allan Poe invites his famous author friends to a dinner party that quickly takes a murderous turn. Who will survive the night?

Elevator Pitch:
Edgar Allan Poe, master of the macabre and father of detective fiction, invites his famous author friends (including Charlotte Bronte, Ernest Hemingway, Emily Dickinson, and HG Wells) to a murder mystery dinner party in order to impress the lovely Annabel Lee. Unfortunately, things take an unexpected turn when people start dying for real. In this irreverent comedy where “Clue” meets “Midnight in Paris,” some of history’s most famous authors will have to band together to find the killer among them – if they can survive the night.

Production Team:
Production Company: Shipwrecked Comedy (previous series include “A Tell Tale Vlog” and “Kissing in the Rain”)
Writers: Sean Persaud and Sinead Persaud
Executive Producers: Sean Persaud, Sinead Persaud, Mary Kate Wiles

About the Film:
Shipwrecked Comedy has produced a number of literary inspired web series and shorts, and this is their biggest project yet. Inspired by their own take on Edgar Allan Poe and his ghost roommate Lenore, as well as their love of long form mystery series, Sean and Sinead have crafted a story that pits history’s most famous authors against each other in a quirky whodunit rife with murder, romance, and comedy that ranges from broad to deep-cut literature in-jokes.

We’ve put together an unbelievable cast, with actors from StarKid, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and many more we have yet to release.

Current Status: We are currently Kickstarting this project. We reached our halfway point in just 5 days and we have about 2 weeks left at this point.
