“No one understands the landscape and possibilities that exist in the current marketplace as well as Melanie Miller and her view towards the future of the business is uncanny,” said Peter Goldwyn in an official statement. “We are excited to have her join our team and help us build the future of Goldwyn.”
Added Miller, “Peter and I had worked together in the past and had a really great rapport with each other. When he told me the vision for the company going forward, and how he wanted me to be a part of what he is building, I didn’t hesitate to accept the opportunity. Samuel Goldwyn Films has a long history of setting the standard for quality films in this town and I can’t wait to further the brand with Peter and the team that we’re building.”
Miller has over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry as a producer, acquisitions and marketing executive, festival programmer and music supervisor. During her tenure at Gravitas Ventures as Vice President of Acquisitions & Marketing, she played an integral role in the growth of the new paradigm of independent distribution. Prior to Gravitas, Melanie was the Artistic Director at the Jackson Hole Film Institute. In 2009, she co-founded the production company Fishbowl Films with producing partner Diane Becker.
