The Sarah Jones Film Foundation is getting the word out to everyone in the entertainment film and television industry to join them in a moment of silence this coming Saturday, February 20, to pay respect to the late Sarah Jones, the camera assistant who was killed in a tragic accident on the Georgia set of the Greg Allman biopic “Midnight Rider.”
The foundation, whose mission is to prevent the same kind of accident and other hazardous and unapproved activities from occurring on film sets, hopes that the moment of silence will be recognized on a global scale. The idea of speaking up if something seems unsafe or suspicious is paramount to the Foundation’s campaign.
“It is our hope that the moment of silence will bring attention so that as a community, we never forget what happened to Sarah when safety was pushed aside and to never again let it happen to another daughter or son,” said Sarah’s father, Richard Jones, in an official statement.
An upcoming documentary about Jones, entitled “We Are Sarah Jones,” is currently readying for a late spring production start.
