Watch: 19-Minute Interview With Todd Haynes About Making 'Carol,' David Bowie, And Much More

The conversation, of course, touches upon the making of “Carol,” but also interestingly dives into the influence of David Bowie on Haynes’ life. The director has no shortage of praise for the late artist, but also says that not using Bowie’s music in “Velvet Goldmine” actually opened up the creative possibilities of the film. Haynes also talks about magic of falling in love, which is sometimes taken for granted, and much more.

Check out the talk below. “Carol” is playing in limited release.
