What happens when a Greek Orthodox man and a Lebanese Muslim woman fall in love? Peter Andrikidis’ “Alex & Eve” explores the answer and all its comical repercussions. The movie is based on the successful Australian play of the same name.
The official synopsis reads: “Alex is a handsome timid schoolteacher in his mid-thirties. His traditional and domineering parents want him to marry a good Greek girl, but Alex falls hopelessly in love with the gorgeous Eve, a lawyer, whose parents are Lebanese Muslim. The couple must hide their relationship knowing their parents will never allow them to be together.”
In the exclusive clip above, we get a glimpse of just how different Alex and Eve’s worlds really are. “Alex & Eve” will premiere Friday, February 5 at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
