These days, blockbusters are usually marketed at least half-a-year in advance, if not more, which makes it all the more intriguing that aside from a few stills and posters, Sony has been keeping Paul Feig‘s “Ghostbusters” under wraps. Even more, the first full trailer won’t even drop until March 3rd, just over four months from when the film will hit theaters. It’s a bold move, and given the anticipation, you can bet fans will be taking apart this new teaser.
Featuring snippets of footage, and a more intense tone than you might’ve expected, this teaser leans more toward blockbuster action movie, than the sort of comedic supernatural lark starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. It’ll be interesting to see how Paul Feig mixes the tone of the originals with the kind of scope audiences expect when handing over their hard earned dollars at the multiplex.
“Ghostbusters” opens on July 15th.
