Rebecca Miller’s “Maggie’s Plan” has been one of the festival circuit’s most delightfully received titles over the past several months, and now moviegoers can see what all the fuss is about in Sony Pictures Classics’ debut trailer. The film had been lauded for its trio of central performances from Greta Gerwig, Ethan Hawke and a Dutch-accented Julianne Moore, but the trailer suggests that Miller’s witty and screwball-heavy script is really the film’s secret weapon.
“Maggie’s Plan” centers around a love triangle between a Brooklyn woman (Gerwig) who is debating being a single parent, a married college professor (Hawke) and his eccentric critical-theorist wife (Moore). Miller wrote and directed the picture, while also serving as producer alongside Rachael Horovitz and Damon Cardasis.
