With recent forays into mega-hit video games such as “Walking Dead: Season Two” and “Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” plus a supporting turn in “The Hateful Eight,” it seems Tarantino favorite Michael Madsen is finally climbing his way back into the spotlight. Luckily for Madsen fans, the actor looks to be having a complete blast in his most recent film, “Death in the Desert.”
Working with director Josh Evans for the second time, Madsen stars in a dark, twisted true-crime thriller that beckons its viewers to hark back to an age when Madsen could give you chills just by dancing with a razor to “Stuck in the Middle with You.” The actor stars as Ray Easler, a legendary casino owner and ruthless business man. When his live-in girlfriend grows overly fond of the hired help and threatens to unravel everything Easler has worked so hard for, the cranky entrepreneur must fix the problem anyway he can. Armed with quick-wit, a foul mouth, and a voice so gruff that it would make Clint Eastwood shake in his boots, Easler must solve his spiraling crisis before his empire is swept away into the desert.
