Janet Grillo helms the new family drama, “Jack of the Red Hearts,” about a teenage runaway posing as a caregiver for an autistic girl. Grillo previously produced the Emmy-winning “Autism: the Musical,” and has strong ties to the autism community since her son is on the autism spectrum.
AnnaSophia Robb stars as the titular Jack, who is on the run from her parole officer. She impersonates a trained caregiver and forms a unique bond with an 11 year-old austic girl named Glory (Taylor Richardson). The film also stars Famke Janssen, Israel Broussard and Scott Cohen.
“Jack of the Red Hearts” opens in select theaters on February 26.
