Los Angeles’ own AFI FEST 2016 Presented by Audi has officially announced its dates for the season. As the festival approaches its 30th edition, it will celebrate yet another week-long run in the movie capital of the world from November 10-17.

Along with the announcement of dates, the festival has also officially opened their doors for submissions from filmmakers all all over the world.

AFI FEST is unique in the sense that it is the only film festival of its caliber that is completely free and open to the public. Time and time again, they have managed to gather an impressive variety of films and filmmakers to attend the festival with projects that tend to go on to much critical acclaim. Last year, a total of 130 films representing 45 countries were unveiled at the festival, including Oscar nominees such as “The Big Short,” “Son of Saul,” “A War” and “Carol.”

Along with a number of premieres, last year’s edition also included appearances and conversations with talent like Ridley Scott, Benecio Del Toro, Michael Caine, Charlotte Rampling, Tom Courtenay, Christian Bale, Rooney Mara, Todd Haynes, Ryan Gosling, Angelina Jolie-Pitt, Brad Pitt, Saoirse Ronan and Sylvester Stallone.
