R-rated animated movies are going to be having a moment this year. Seth Rogen and co. already teased “Sausage Party” at SXSW (our review), and next month at Tribeca, audiences will get their first look at “Nerdland,” which earns its adults-only stripes and then some.
Directed by Chris Prynoski (“Metalocalypse“), and featuring the voices of Paul Rudd, Patton Oswalt, Hannibal Buress, Riki Lindhome, Kate Micucci, Mike Judge, and Reid Scott, the story follows two L.A. dudes on the cusp of turning 30, who dream of fame. Here’s the synopsis:
Aspiring actor John (Paul Rudd) and would-be screenwriter Elliot (Patton Oswalt) are two LA dudes approaching their 30th birthdays without yet becoming the megawatt superstars they know they were meant to be. In a town built on who you know (and who knows you), the ambitious duo will set out on an all-day journey through their all-star rolodexes to make it big by the end of the night.
Tribeca runs from April 13-25, and “Nerdland” will premiere on April 14th. Watch below.
