Lynn Whitfield and Rockmond Dunbar are starring in the Supremacy Films drama titled “Curveball,” which RLJ Entertainment will release on DVD and Digital Video on April 5th. It will also make its streaming premiere on April 1, 2016 on UMC – Urban Movie Channel, the premium subscription-based video streaming service created by Robert L. Johnson (BET founder).
The film centers on a star high school baseball player who makes one wrong decision that quickly brings some unexpected mayhem into his life.
Official synopsis reads: “Smart, popular and star pitcher of his high school team, Nolan has managed to put his troubled childhood behind him with the help of the two things he could always depend on: his love of baseball and his best friend, Sam. But just as Nolan’s future is looking bright, Sam starts leading him into trouble – playing hard and partying harder. Even with the help of people who love him and will risk everything to save him, it’s up to Nolan to keep his head in the game before he strikes out for the last time.”
E. Roger Mitchell Jean-Luc McMurtry, and Adam Aalderks round out the starring cast.
The film is produced by Errol Sadler along with director Brandon “2Mill” Thaxton, who’s making his directorial debut.
Supremacy Films is the same production company behind another film previously profiled on this site, the indie action/thriller titled “blackhats,” from director Laron Austin, and a screenplay penned by Eddie Singleton & Martin Kelley.
