Richard Linklater will be kicking off the 2016 SXSW Film Festival this year with the official world premiere of “Everybody Wants Some!!,” but festival attendees down in Austin, Texas will get a special bonus event in the form of Mondo’s Gallery’s “No Longer/Not Yet: A Tribute to Richard Linklater.” The event will feature special edition Mondo posters devoted to Linklater’s filmography, and Indiewire is excited to premiere the artwork for “Bernie” below.
Using the film’s mortician-set storyline as inspiration, the poster, created by Mondo artist Phantom City Creative, weaves together the iconography of funeral flowers and handcuffs to tease the film’s madcap dark comedy.
“Bernie” stars Jack Black, Shirley McClaine and Matthew McConaughey. The Mondo event is taking place this Saturday, March 12 through Tuesday, March 15. Check out the poster below.
