The upcoming SundanceTV miniseries “Rebellion” has appropriately released its first clips on St. Patrick’s Day, capitalizing on its Irish sensibilities and patriotism. The historical drama, which chronicles the birth of modern Ireland, will air from April 24 to April 26, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Easter Uprising.
The miniseries begins during the outbreak of World War I, as Irish nationalism starts to swell. The epic and expansive show follows the lives of three young women and their families, lovers and friends from Belfast, Dublin and London, as the struggle for Ireland’s independence unfolds. Written by Colin Teevan (“Silk,” “Vera”) and directed by Aku Louhimies (“Frozen Land”), “Rebellion” stars Brian Gleeson, Charlie Murphy, Michelle Fairley, Ruth Bradley and Sarah Greene.
“Rebellion” will air Sunday, April 24 at 8pm and continue Monday, April 25 and Tuesday, April 26 at 9pm. Watch the first clip above and the second clip below.
