“One thing was certain. Laing would surrender to a logic more powerful than reason.” That’s the tantalizing voiceover tease in the latest trailer for Ben Wheatley’s “High-Rise,” which is gearing up to open in the U.K., and hit the Tribeca Film Festival before landing in stateside cinemas.
Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, Elisabeth Moss, James Purefoy, Peter Ferdinando and Keeley Hawes all star in the adaptation of J.G. Ballard‘s novel in which the inhabitants of a luxury high-rise essentially descend into madness, in what Wheatley turns into a scathing critique of Thatcher-era politics and policies. Meanwhile, over at VICE, the director chats about the architecture, terrorism, his early work, and more.
“High-Rise” opens in the U.S. via On Demand, Amazon Video and iTunes on April 28th and in theaters on May 13th.
