After the “clone club” faced extermination from a rival gang of male clones in a wild and addictive third season, Tatiana Maslany’s many characters are back in Season 4, again being forced to find their salvation by delving deeper into the past.
Created by Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, “Orphan Black” finally broke through the Emmy barrier last year and is looking to capitalize on that momentum with a strong publicity push — and timeslot switch — in the new year. Season 4’s second trailer (above) is built on a similarly creative and rhythmic pace as the series, showing off bits and pieces of the mysteries to come without giving too much away; but also, without making fans feel cheated by a cheap marketing ploy aimed to get headlines. It’s a well-cut spot, and one fans should appreciate.
The official synopsis for the new season reads as follows: “United in their mission to end the constant threats to their lives once and for all, the sisters are taking matters into their own hands. No more looking for guidance, permission or consensus on decisions — the clones are taking full ownership…no matter the cost to those around them. Retracing steps from the beginning will uncover revelations that had been there all along, and will ultimately shake their fragile world to the core.”
“Orphan Black” Season 4 premieres Thursday, April 14 at 10pm on BBC America.
