Tina Fey’s new war comedy film “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” is already generating a lot of good buzz for its release later this week, aided by the help of its star-studded cast, including Martin Freeman, Margot Robbie and Billy Bob Thornton. It will be interesting to see how a film of this unusual genre plays out, since it is hard to tackle this kind of subject and turn it into a comedy.
The film is based off the memoir of Kim Barker titled “The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan,” which illustrates life as a war correspondent in Afghanistan beginning in 2002. Fey, Freeman and Thornton talk about Kim’s transformation and strength of character in the exclusive featurette.
“Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” will be released this Friday, March 4.
