Logline: A web series dramedy about a diverse group of gay friends discovering life in their 40s isn’t quite what they imagined it would be.
Elevator Pitch:
“The New 30” is a gay web series that follows Elliot and his diverse group of friends as they navigate their 40s and discover that life isn’t quite what they expected it to be. They thought they’d have everything figured out, but are discovering that your 40s is just as unpredictable and challenging as life in your 30s! “The New 30” is a dramedy – a cocktail of “Sex and the City,” “Looking” and “Soul Food.” With a mixed cast, the issues the characters face are relatable to everyone – real, emotional, and believable. 40 is “The New 30!”
Production Team:
Co-creator, Co-writer, Director, Executive Producer – Walt Bost
Co-creator, Co-writer – John Sobrack
Editor – Howard Leder (“Outsiders”, “The Newsroom”, “Devious Maids”)
About the Film:
We want to see stories told about the gay men and lives that we know, with all types of characters in their 40’s living very different experiences and facing all kinds of challenges within their careers and personal lives. Real stories, substantive, believable and relatable.
It was important to us to have a diverse cast. So much gay material on the web and tv is very white. This is not life.
Our goal is to produce a high-quality gay show that could be on television.
Current Status: We have completed the self-funded pilot. We are fundraising on Kickstarter to make the other 5 episodes in the series.
