“Sex sells,” says the old advertising adage, but as anyone who engages with the culture can attest, that rule applies to movies and TV as well. If you feature beautiful people having sex, there’s a better than average chance people will seek out your work. Enter French filmmaker Eva Husson’s “Bang Gang: A Modern Love Story,” a film about young French teens having group sex. The relationship drama follows George (Marilyn Lima) who hooks up with her friend Alex (Finnegan Oldfield) and falls for him, but when he doesn’t return her messages, she devises a game to get him jealous, which basically involves their classmates playing “Truth or Dare,” except only with dares. This soon evolves into a regular extracurricular activity where people gather at Alex’s house to hang out, swim, drink and do drugs, and hook up. But when their activities are revealed, the teens deal with the scandal in different ways and are forced to discover their true desires. Watch the film’s trailer above.
“Bang Gang” is Husson’s debut feature. The film had its world premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival. It will enter limited release on June 17th. Check out the poster for the film below.
