In general, details regarding Woody Allen’s latest film “Cafe Society” are sparse. It follows a young man who travels from New York to Hollywood in the 1930’s only to fall in love and in with the vibrant cafe society of the age. It stars a host of talented actors, including Kristen Stewart (“Clouds of Sils Maria”), Jesse Eisenberg (“Adventureland”), Steve Carrell (“Anchorman”), Parker Posey (“Dazed and Confused”), Jeannie Berlin (“Margaret”), and Tony Sirico (“The Sopranos”). It’s set to open this year’s Cannes Film Festival on May 11th, and then just a week later will have its North American premiere at the 42nd Annual Seattle International Film Festival. We’ve already received a glimpse at some choices images from the film, but now there’s a gorgeous poster to go along with it that promises “Anyone who is anyone…will be seen at Cafe Society.”
Woody Allen last film “Irrational Man” also premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, and his 2011 smash hit “Midnight In Paris” opened the festival to great success. “Cafe Society” will be the veteran director’s 48th film in his fifty-year long career. It will open in theaters on August 12th.
