You might not know her name, but Ana de Armas‘ profile is certainly on the rise. The actress is perhaps best known to stateside audiences for her role in Eli Roth‘s thriller “Knock Knock” starring Keanu Reeves, and they’ll be seeing more of her this summer, as she has roles in Todd Phillips‘ “War Dogs” and the boxing flick “Hands Of Stone” with Robert De Niro and Edgar Ramirez. And now, she’s jumping into her first blockbuster.
de Armas has joined the “Blade Runner” sequel in what’s being described as a leading role, and she’ll be starring alongside Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright and Dave Bautista. Hampton Fancher and Michael Green have penned the script for the Denis Villeneuve-directed movie, and of course, there are no plot details just yet, except that it’ll be set decades after Ridley Scott‘s original.
Production begins in July with cinematographer Roger Deakins putting his magic touch on the film that will be released on October 6, 2017.
