Fans finally have the first look at Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf in the upcoming Netflix series, “A Series of Unfortunate Events.” The Canadian site, Vanity Buzz posted the first photos from the set.
The show has been filming in Vancouver for quite some time and the actor was seen in downtown Vancouver in his character’s getup, the pointed long nose and wispy gray hair. Aasif Mandvi was also spotted as Uncle Monty and Matty Cardarople as Henchperson of Indetermined Gender.
“A Series of Unfortunate Events” is slated to hit Netflix this August. Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes will star as the Baudelaire orphans Violet and Klaus. Patrick Warburton is Lemony Snicket.
The 13-episode show hopes to recreate the darkly humorous world of the children who lose their parents and attempt to uncover dark family secrets as they are pursued by Olaf.
In 2004, Jim Carrey starred as Olaf in the Brad Silberling-directed film. The film grossed more than $209 million worldwide but what said to be too expensive to continue the franchise. Plans of sequels and additional films were abandoned.
