The third season premiere of Showtime’s critically-acclaimed drama “Penny Dreadful” airs this Sunday May 1st at 10pm Eastern, but Showtime is giving viewers the opportunity to watch the episode early and for free. Customers who don’t subscribe to Showtime can watch the TV-14 version of the episode on YouTube, Facebook, and SHO.com. It’s also available for download as a free video podcast on iTunes, streaming across multiple devices like Hulu and Roku, as well as available on numerous television providers’ On Demand channels.
Created by the Oscar-nominated John Logan (writer of “Gladiator,” “The Aviator,” and “Hugo”) and executive produced by Sam Mendes (“Road to Perdition,” “Skyfall”), “Penny Dreadful” waves together classic horror origin stories 19th century British fiction, like Dorian Gray from Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and Abraham Van Helsing from Bram Stoker’s “Dracula,” with an all-new original story set in 1891 Victorian London. The series stars Eva Green (“Casino Royale”), Timothy Dalton (“License to Kill”), Josh Hartnett (“The Virgin Suicides”), Reeve Carney (“Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark”), and more.
Showtime subscribers can watch the uncensored version of the premiere on Showtime.com, Showtime On Demand, or the stand-alone streaming service available through Amazon Prime, Hulu, Roku, and others.
