In just ten days, the new Marvel film “Captain America: Civil War” will be released into theaters. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film will cover events one year after “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” when severe collateral damage caused by the Avengers team prompts politicians to impose a governing body that will hold superheroes accountable for their actions. This splits the Avengers team in two, with one side wanting to operate without regulation and the other supporting government oversight. Among the many superheroes in “Captain America: Civil War,” one is the appearance of an all-new Spider-Man played by Tom Holland. Watch a TV spot above that features the first footage of Holland fighting and talking as the masked arachnid-human hybrid.
Prior to his role as Spider-Man, Tom Holland was best known for playing the title role in “Billy Elliot the Musical” at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London. He also starred in Juan Antonio Bayona’s disaster film “The Impossible,” as well as Kevin McDonald’s “How I Live Now” opposite Saoirse Ronan. He also had supporting roles in “Locke” and “In The Heart of the Sea.” He also recently joined the large ensemble cast for Shane Carruth’s upcoming film “The Modern Ocean.”
“Captain America: Civil War” will open everywhere on May 6th.
