Coming hot off the festival circuit is a film sure to tug at heartstrings and leave viewers stunned. The Cannes-favorite documentary “The Other Side” is coming to American theaters next month, and opening the Lincoln Center Film Society’s Art of the Real series on April 8. “His work is among the most interesting to emerge from the U.S. in recent years, which may be surprising considering he is an Italian who has decided to poke his camera into the margins of American society. Sometimes it takes the eye of an outsider to provide a new perspective,” Piers Handling, the Director and Chief Executive Officer of TIFF, wrote of the film. “Minervini is one such outsider. We feel he is at home with his subjects, as he peers into corners that many Americans choose to ignore.”
“The Other Side” is in theaters nationwide on May 20. You can also purchase tickets to the film’s Art of the Real opening night screening here. Watch our exclusive clip above.
