“Carnage Park” doesn’t sound like a nice place to live, but it could be a good movie to spend 90 minutes on. After premiering at Sundance and going on to play at SXSW, writer/director Mickey Keating’s ’70s-set horror thriller is being released later this summer. Watch its trailer above.
Ashley Bell plays a woman taken hostage by two masked bank robbers (James Landry Hébert and Michael Villar) who themselves end up at the mercy of a trigger-happy sniper living in the desert and picking off any who dare enter his desolate domain (Pat Healy). Alan Ruck, Bob Bancroft, Darby Stanchfield, Graham Skipper and Larry Fessenden all co-star alongside the main quartet.
Keating previously directed “Darling,” “Pod” and “Ritual.” IFC Midnight will release “Carnage Park” in theaters on on demand July 1.
