The newest Alamo Drafthouse outpost isn’t opening until later this summer, but Brooklynites are getting a preview of the Austin, Texas–based theater chain’s programming sensibility this summer all the same. Over a few weeks beginning on Memorial Day Weekend, the Alamo Drafthouse is hosting three free outdoor screenings at Fort Greene Park — each with a different theme and attendant festivities.
The series begins on May 27, with a Bring Your Own Dog screening of “Best in Show.” Life will imitate art for Christopher Guest’s classic mockumentary, as attendees are encouraged to bring their canine companions along — and even parade them before the audience during a makeshift dog show before the movie. (Try not to forget Busy Bee.) A week later, on June 3, the Drafthouse’s famous “Labyrinth” sing-along makes its Brooklyn debut; early birds will receive free souvenir props.

The series concludes with “Finding Nemo” on June 10, which happens to be a week before the release of “Finding Dory.” Costumes are encouraged for this one, and we’ve been assured that surprises are in store as well. All events begin at sundown.
