Netflix and England’s Channel 4 are teaming up to bring a new “dark comedy” to the streaming service titled “Crazy Face.”
Developed by “Misfits” creator Howard Overman, the six-part series stars “Downton Abbey” actress Cara Theobold and Susan Wokoma (“Chewing Gum”) and is a gripping entry about friendship, love and facing your demons, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows Amy (Theobold) and Raquel (Wokoma), an unlikely pair of demon hunters who look for the evil spirits that possess the living. Amy works at a bowling alley and has the powers to see lingering spirits. She then meets Raquel, a self-trained demon hunter with a whole lot of baggage and lack of social skills.
Additional cast members include Riann Steele as Amy’s best friend Suzanne, Lewis Reeves plays Jake, Amy’s workmate-with-a-massive-crush, Arinze Kene is Raquel’s level-headed older brother Tyler and Tony Curran is the sinister Callum.
The series will be executed produced by Overman, Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy. Production will begin this week in Bristol.
“Crazy Face” will first be broadcasted on E4 in the U.K. then Netflix will stream the series globally.
