With the likes of “Banshee” and especially “The Knick” in its repertoire, Cinemax’s slate of original dramas has grown increasingly impressive over the last few years. The premium-cable channel hopes to build on that with “Outcast,” a new exorcism series from “The Walking Dead’s” Robert Kirkman. The series premiere doesn’t officially air for nearly two weeks, but is now available to stream for free.
The show stars Patrick Fugit (“Almost Famous”) as Kyle Barnes, a man frequently beset by demonic possession who isolates himself from his loved ones lest he bring harm to them as well. Aided by an evangelist preacher who believes him to be a soldier in God’s army, Kyle decides to fight back against the forces taking over his body.

Adam Wingard (“You’re Next,” “The Guest”) directed the pilot, which also stars Gabriel Bateman, Wrenn Schmidt, Reg E. Cathey and indie mainstay Kate Lyn Sheil. “Outcast” premieres on Cinemax on June 3.
