The gritty British crime drama “Peaky Blinders” will drop its entire third season on Netflix at the end of this month and to amp everyone up, the streaming service released an action-packed trailer which includes wedding bells and Tom Hardy cameos.
Set in Birmingham, England in the 1920s, Season 3 shows Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy), who at the end of Season 2 agreed to marriage, pulled into the glamorous and dangerous world of international intrigue. On his wedding day he is approached by a secret organization and finds himself at the center of an arms deal that could change history.
Hardy returns to reprise his role as Alfie Solomons, a jewish gang leader who’s violent and unpredictable but cunning and intelligent. He can be seen in a couple scenes brooding in corners. The trailer mostly showcases Thomas’ power over the members and reminds viewers that this is “His family, his business, his empire.”
Paddy Considine joins the crew as new character Father Hughes. Additional cast members include Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Joe Cole, Annabelle Wallis, Sophie Rundle, Harry Kirton, Finn Cole and Aimée-Ffion Edwards, among others.
The series was created and written by Steve Knight. Tim Mielants served as director of the third season, which is currently airing on BBC Two in the U.K. The first two seasons of the series are currently available to stream now on Netflix.
