‘Friday Night Lights’ Reunion: Connie Britton Thrills Fans & More Cast Highlights From ATX TV Fest

The cast of “Friday Night Lights” reunited at the ATX Television Festival in Austin to celebrate the series’ 10 year anniversary on Friday, June 10.

Staged like a tailgate party, Gaius Charles, Scott Porter, Adrianne Palicki, Jesse Plemons, Matt Lauria, Brad Leland, Louanne Stephens, Connie Britton and executive producer Jason Katims, among others, were present to reminisce on the show. The cast were on the now-retired Panther Field, where so many of their inspirational and famous game moments took place.

“That was such a great character to play,” Britton, whose show “Nashville” just got resurrected by CMT,  told the crowd about her time on the football drama.

Here are 10 more highlight of the “FNL” anniversary event:

1. There were old lockers and props from the show on display for fans at the tailgate and pep rally reunion.

2. Unfortunately Coach Taylor himself Kyle Chandler was unable to make it.

3. During the event, the episode “The Son” was screened.

4. Scott Porter does a “killer Taylor Kitsch / Riggins impression,” according to IndieWire’s Ben Travers.

6. Plemons’ band Crucifictorious reunited for the tailgate and the crowd went wild

7. The best part was when Grandma Saracen (Louanne Stephens) went on stage in a tiara.

8. And then put on a robe…

9. Plemons also remembered the time when he tore his ACL on the Panther Field during a friendly game. The incident made production put an end to all extra curricular games until after the series ended.
