James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” about Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and a group of extraterrestrial bounty hunters who have to steal a powerful artifact in order to save the galaxy, was a smash hit for Marvel. Now, there’s a sequel on the way coming to theaters next year, and there’s already some news about the film, specifically the villain. Joblo confirms that “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will feature female villain Ayesha, a blonde goddess-like being created by the Enclave, a group of scientists who want to take over the world. Though her backstory is complex and involves perfect genetic beings and restarting humanity, it’s reported that she will be the main antagonist for the film. She might be played by actress Elizabeth Debicki who, as of now, does not have a specific role.
James Gunn began his career working for Troma Entertainment as well as writing the scripts for “The Specials” and the live-action “Scooby-Doo.” He wrote and directed “Slither,” a sci-fi thriller about an extraterrestrial parasite that embodies the consciousness of a local car dealer, and “Super,” a superhero film about a loser vigilante who takes crime into his own hands. Chris Pratt is best known for playing Andy on “Parks and Recreation,” along with his performances in “The Lego Movie” and “Jurassic World.” Elizabeth Debicki recently appeared in the AMC miniseries “The Night Manager” and was the villain in “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”
