Radiohead Share Eerie Short Video Directed By ‘The IT Crowd’ Actor Richard Ayoade

The video is for the band's song “Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief.”

Radiohead

This week in Radiohead’s weekly Friday vignettes, the band released a short video of their song “Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief.” (Whew, try saying that ten times fast.) The song is off their ninth studio album, “A Moon Shaped Pool,” and is the sixth video in a series of interpretations for each track.

The clip for “Tinker Tailer” is directed by English actor and writer Richard Ayoade, known for his role as Maurice Moss in “The IT Crowd.” The eerie video is shot from the point of view of a driver at night, who runs into a group of strange people all dressed in black and carrying briefcases. As they look left and right and huddle up, an explosion is seen in the distance. Then a masked person comes out from the driver’s left view.

Each vignette is created by a different artist and director who interprets a Radiohead song in their own way. Previous helmers include audio-visual artist Tarik Barri, Oscar Hudson and English comedian, writer and actor Adam Buxton.

“A Moon Shaped Pool” is now available as a physical copy and you can listen to the entire album on Spotify.
