Ever hear of a little game called Bad Cop/Bad Cop? No? Understandable, as most cop-movie-loving audiences have long been acquainted with the concept of Good Cop/Bad Cop, an idea that John Michael McDonagh’s dark comedy “War on Everyone” pretty gleefully throws right out the metaphorical window.

Alexander Skarsgård and Michael Peña star in the festival favorite (it played to great acclaim at Berlin and SXSW earlier this year) as a pair of corrupt cops who set about blackmailing any criminal who comes across their path (not a bad racket, all things considered), but when they run afoul of a baddie more bad than themselves, things take a very swift turn into far more dangerous territory. The formula might sound familiar, but Skarsgård and Peña both turn in tremendous performances and infuse the feature with a unique sense of humor that is nothing short of outlandishly entertaining, something the film’s latest trailer plays up to big effect.

“War on Everyone” does not yet have a U.S. release date, but Saban Films does own its domestic rights, so this little nasty number should (hopefully) be dated soon. Check out the (slightly NSFW) trailer below.
