In the sixth season finale of “Bob’s Burgers,” Bob Belcher (H. Jon Benjamin) prepares for a big interview with Coasters Magazine that is set to put his restaurant on the map. Unfortunately, his kids Louise (Kristen Schaal), Gene (Eugene Mirman), and Tina (Dan Mintz) are causing a ruckus with their long-running “goop war,” where someone tricks another into feeling a goop-like substance. Bob accidentally gets caught in their goop war when he finds himself glued to the toilet, a Louise prank meant for Gene, mere hours before the Coasters Magazine people come. While his family and friends try to pull him off, he ends up singing a musical duet with Louise, who feels guilty for accidentally gluing her father to the toilet, called “Bad Stuff Happens In The Bathroom.”
Now, indie rock band The National and English singer-songwriter Låpsley have covered “Bad Stuff Happens In The Bathroom” for a brand-new music video, featuring “Bob’s Burgers” versions of all the musicians. The video features a dark, synth-laden version of the song with National frontman Matt Berninger playing Bob and Låpsley playing Louise.
For the last three consecutive seasons of “Bob’s Burgers,” the band has recorded covers of impromptu songs from one of the episodes. First, there was “The Thanksgiving Song” from the episode “Indecent Thanksgiving Proposal,” then the next year, there was “Sailors In Your Mouth” from the episode “Turkey In a Can” (another Thanksgiving episode), and finally last season, they covered “Christmas Magic” from the episode “Father of the Bob.”
