Earlier this year, rapper Kanye West released his seventh studio album “The Life of Pablo,” a reckless, madcap album that melds together many of his signature styles he’s developed over the past decade. One of the oldest tracks on the album is “Wolves,” a melancholic, minimalist song that Kanye first debuted in February of last year at an Adidas fashion show, and later performed on the “Saturday Night Live” 40th anniversary special. Now, over a year and a half later, Kanye has debuted the seven-minute music video for the song directed by Steven Klein. Watch it below.
Though the new black-and-white video functions as publicity for French fashion house Balmain’s fall line, as Kanye has partnered with them, it also stands alone as a stylish, sorrowful expression of the song’s essence. The video features Kanye with tears running down his face as he sings the song, teary-eyed celebrities walking through the frame amidst a black backdrop, and grainy clips from parties and fashion events. The video features Kim Kardashian, rapper Vic Mensa, Sia, Kylie Jenner, Cindy Crawford, and more.
This is the second video to be released in support of “The Life of Pablo.” The first was for “Famous,” and it featured wax models of Taylor Swift, Donald Trump, Bill Cosby, former President George Bush, and more. “The Life of Pablo” is available to stream now.
