In 2010, Frank Hvam and Casper Christensen took their long-running Danish comedy “Klown” and brought it to the big screen with director Mikkel Nørgaard. Similar to Larry David’s successful HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Klown starred the duo as fictionalized versions of themselves and centered around their increasingly awkward shenanigans and encounters within the Danish entertainment scene (Hvam played a former popular comic and Christensen was his best friend).
Fortunately, the duo are coming to America in the sequel, “Klown Forever.” Still seeking fame, fortune and friendship, the pair arrive in the states to take on Hollywood and they come face-to-face with some of its biggest starts, from Adam Levine to Isla Fisher and “Game of Thrones’” star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Will their attempts to find American success pay off? Probably not, and as the new trailer indicates, there’s plenty of gut-wrenching lows the two will experience.
“Klown Forever” hits theaters and VOD platforms on September 2 via Drafthouse Films. Watch the trailer here and check out the exclusive poster debut below.
