What could be stranger than if “Parks and Recreation” was directly linked to “Stranger Things?” How about if two characters from the the shows were related?
Since the released of the hit Netflix series created by the Duffer brothers, fans couldn’t help notice that there is a striking resemblance between Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) and “Parks and Rec’s” Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz). They both share similar looking hair, the pronounced nose and eyebrow arch, which led many to come up with the fan theory that Steve is Jean-Ralphio’s dad.
Now, the truth has finally come out thanks to Schwartz who has admitted (or implied) that indeed, Nancy’s boyfriend is the “Parks and Rec’s” character’s father.
In a hilarious video for “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” Schwartz spoke out about Jean-Ralphio’s relationship with Steve and even went into detail about how he was conceived. He also explained how Jean-Ralphio would spend most of his time in the upside-down, was “super chill” running that place and was even friends with the monsters.
“I’m assuming that there’s a 100 percent chance of me being on ‘Stranger Things’ Seasons 2 through 100,” Schwartz adds. We wouldn’t have it any other way!
And that’s not all, even “Parks and Rec” creator Michael Schur confirmed their relationship on Twitter.
@latelateshow We will neither confirm nor deny that Steve is Jean-Ralphio's real dad. But yes, Steve is definitely his real dad.
