The British anthology series “Black Mirror” takes a satirical look at modern life, politics, and technology. Each episode features a new cast, a new director, and a new setting, but all take a skewed look at the systems and institutions that govern our reality, and decide on the normalcy of our surroundings. The past two seasons have garnered widespread critical acclaim and became even more popular internationally when Netflix added them to their site, and the third season will debut on the streaming site in October.
Now, ahead of its upcoming season, two new episodes of the series will debut at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival next month, but before then, Netflix has debuted some new images from the two episodes, one of which is directed by Joe Wright and features Bryce Dallas Howard and Alice Eve. It is scripted by Rashida Jones and Michael Schur, both of “Parks and Recreation” fame. See the images below.
Joe Wright is best known for directing the 2007 film “Atonement,” an adaptation of the Ian McEwan novel of the same name, starring James McAvoy and Kiera Knightley. The film was critically acclaimed and nominated for six Oscars, winning one for Best Original Score. He has also directed the 2005 version of “Pride and Prejudice,” the action-adventure film “Hanna,” the 2012 adaptation of “Anna Karenina,” and most recently, “Pan.”
The entire third season of “Black Mirror” will premiere on October 21st exclusively on Netflix.
