You’ll never guess who Meryl Streep thinks could play her in the probably inevitable biopic about her extraordinary life and career — and, no, that’s not clickbait or some kind of rouse, because Streep really has named an unexpected choice. But that’s not to say it’s not a good, or at least very intriguing, one.
Streep recently sat down with The Huffington Post to chat about her role in “Florence Foster Jenkins,” a biographical look at the extraordinary “fake it till you make it” opera singing career of the eponymous character, a society maven with a huge affection for music and a stunning lack of talent for actually making any of her own. During the video interview, HuffPo reporter Matt Jacobs led Streep in a fun game imagining different careers and hobbies for some of Streep’s starriest co-stars (and, because she’s Meryl Streep and knows everyone, other famous actors she’s met along the way).
The most interesting imaginary occupation of all? Who could play Streep in a biopic, a question she answers without missing a beat: Amy Schumer. Consider us very interested in the potential for that casting.

“Florence Foster Jenkins” is currently in theaters.
