“You threw me in,” Frank (William H. Macy) angrily says to the members of his clan after awakening from a coma and learning that they tossed him in the river. The new season picks up a month after the last episode and will follow Frank as he tries to replace his kids with new ones he handpicks from a shelter.
It’s also clear that Fiona (Emmy Rossum), after being left at the alter, is going through a hard time trying to get her life back in order. As the eldest child and caretaker of everyone, she tries to get her siblings to contribute to the household and clean up their acts. Though when it comes to her father, she’s had enough of him.
Showtime moved the series from spring to fall, giving fans two seasons in the same calendar year. Macy recently received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Frank and Rossum is set to direct the fourth episode of the upcoming season, scheduled to air on October 23.
Season 7 of “Shameless” will premiere October 2 on Showtime.
