The hotly-anticipated new season of everyone’s favorite period drama “Halt and Catch Fire” will premiere this week with two back-to-back episodes, but folks may have already gotten the chance to check out one of those episodes already. Last night, AMC quietly aired the first episode of the new season after the midseason premiere of “Talking Dead.” Luckily for those who didn’t get a chance to see it, you can watch it for free on the AMC website.
Set in the mid-80s during the personal computer revolution, “Halt and Catch Fire” follows a few rag-tag individuals who set out to change the tech world with new innovations. There’s Joe MacMillan (Lee Pace), a smooth-talking salesman who finds himself perched atop a new anti-virus empire in San Francisco; Gordon and Donna Clark (Scoot McNairy and Kerry Bishé), a married couple struggling with their relationship, a new relocation to the West Coast, and their respective career ambitions; Cameron Howe (Mackenzie Davis), a young software whiz who finds herself at a crossroads between idealism and success; and John Bosworth (Toby Huss), a Texas good ol’ boy and ex-CEO who heads West to start the next chapter of his life.
The two-hour season premiere of “Halt and Catch Fire” airs tomorrow on AMC at 9pm Eastern. The previous two seasons are available to stream on Netflix.
